What a great time to be a M.U.S.C.L.E. collector!
The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. has repeatedly praised artists and customizers who seem to be (by M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting standards) flocking to the hobby. There have never been more custom figures being created than right now. The following auctions are perfect examples of the tremendous product being offered to collectors.
The first auction, Custom M.U.S.C.L.E. Claw Figures Kinnikuman GITD, is from Wolf Voigt. Between Wolf’s customs, his website, and his figures featuring prominently in the first Dr. M.U.S.C.L.E. video collectors should be very familiar with him.
As stated in the auction description, the auction features:
8 custom M.U.S.C.L.E. Claw #153 figures. Colors included are translucent: yellow, orange, pink, blue, green & purple. The last two are a little different: One glows in the dark and the other changes color from Black to Purple in warm water or at 86F.
The combination of the quality figures (which are seem to be occasionally taken for granted by collectors), the fair starting price, the low shipping cost, the simple and straightforward description, and clear auction picture make this an auction with great sales potential. All of these things don’t even recognize the fact that the sculpt in the wildly popular #153 figure. That fact alone can often send prices inexplicably skyrocketing.
The final price of this auction will be $34.50.
The second auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. men figures Big Hammer Sunshine Yello, is from Muscle_Things (Alec) who has also been highlighted several times throughout the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. website. Once again Alec has partnered with halfaway to create a custom figure.
Once again the pair has focused on one of the “Sunshine” figures using figure #64 as the base of the figure. If figure #153 is the most popular figure, then the Sunshine figures (i.e., #195, #3, etc.) are very near the top too.
The auction features several pictures which give potential buyers an excellent view of the figure (plus the Flesh version also being sold in a separate auction). Additionally the starting price and shipping costs are very enticing.
The final price of this auction will be 22.50.
Follow-Up:The first auction sold for $42.86, which is $8.36 more that the predicted price of $34.50.
The second auction sold for $20.49, which is $2.01 less that the predicted price of $22.50.
