Auction Watch #15

Once again, two auctions deserve attention: (1) a huge lot ending soon; and (2) another Satan Cross.

The first is the auction titled: 363 M.U.S.C.L.E muscle figures colored and flesh HUGE!

This auction is noteworthy worth four reasons:
1. It is a huge lot of 363 Color M.U.S.C.L.E. Figures
2. It has an awesome starting price, $5.
3. The shipping is accurate, maybe even low, for over 300 figures.
4. The seller, Meatcutta78, has an awesome reputation and feedback on both eBay and at LRG.com.

It is very hard to predict the final price of this auction. Not too long ago 500 M.U.S.C.L.E. figures only sold for $168.28, which is only $0.34 per figure. Using that auction as a barometer for large M.U.S.C.L.E. lots it seems as if this auction should end for approximately $120. However with approximately 30 hours remaining in the auction and a current auction price of $6.50 it would be surprising for the lot to end at $120.

The second auction is titled: 40 figures M.U.S.C.L.E. men bandai mattel Kinnikuman.

Based on the Satan Cross auctions that have been recently highlighted on UofM it would seem as if this poorly photographed Satan Cross would sell for even less than some of the other figures. However, the most recent Satan Cross auction highlighted might suggest that some impatient and over excited buyers are currently in the market.

With such a terrible picture and an unknown Reserve Price this auction may scare of some potential buyers. If the Reserve is under $30, then this auction will sell for approximately $35.

Follow-Up: The lot of Color figures sold for a surprising $82, which is only $0.23 per figure – 11 cents less per figure than the previously highlighted lot of Color figures.

As expected, the lot of 40 Flesh figures which included the Satan Cross did not sell. The bidding reached $28 but did not meet the reserve.

One of the reasons the meatcutta auction didn’t fetch a high price may have been that it was US only.

Even though I am a Euro, I would happily have paid $100 plus shipping for a huge lot like this.

So let this be a lesson to you sellers: always make your auctions available worldwide!

I can only agree 100% with Strontium Dog on this one. I have on numerous occasions been more than willing to pay out for certain things from America, only to be disapointed by the US only deal. I always make things buyable for the whole world. Even though I have had numerous problems shipping to France.

BTW Amazing site and auction watch is famtastic.
