Auction Watch #105

Once again, Auction Watch features a figure from Muscle Things (Alec). He has several custom figures listed on eBay, and all of them end TODAY (Wednesday June 6th around 6~7 PM Eastern Standard Time). There are some familiar figures, and some new ones, but the absolute gem of the unseen figures is Max – M.U.S.C.L.E. men figures B.U.F.F. mWo non-poster figure Max.

It’s almost cliché, at this point, to say a figure could be part of the original line of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures – but it’s painfully appropriate here. The figure is not a homage, it isn’t cutesy, and it doesn’t capitalize on the popularity of any one figure. Absolutely fantastic.

I expect this figure to be one of the most expensive auctions for one of Alec’s figures. The final price of the first auction for Max will be $50.

The next four auctions all come from the very well respected, and longtime M.U.S.C.L.E. collector “Doc Moore J.” His auctions have been spotlighted before and he always has absolutely fantastic items, great pictures, low opening bids, and cheap shipping. How much more can be said?

Here are four more great auctions from Doc:

The last auction, M.U.S.C.L.E MEN LOT 11-Men+BATTLING BELT+TRASH CAN, is a relisted auction from last week. It had been listed at $50 with a $100 Buy-It-Now option. Now it is listed at $45.50 with a $75 Buy-It-Now.

It would be easy to say it’s just an uninformed and/or stubborn seller. However, last week he listed a somewhat similar lot of figures, MIB ring, with the Ring Figures still sealed. That auction had a $0.99 opening bid and sold for $58.00.

It seems odd that such opposite strategies are being employed. Especially when the $0.99 opening bid lot of items was arguably the better lot. This last auction will not sell. However, if the auction was relisted with a $0.99 opening bid. The final price of that auction would be predicted to be $38.50.
