Kinnikuman Kubrick figures
by Professor Terry
This week it’s time to look at a figure line some of you may know – the Kubrick figures. In the Kinnikuman line there are two series of figures: (1) Series 1 has eight figures; and (2) Series 2 has six figures.
I have 11 of the 14 figures. The Series 2 figures are much more difficult to find.
I like these figures because they are very solid, have nice packaging, and allow you to swap the heads very easy. Isn’t it funny to be able to put a Robin Mask head on an Announcer’s body or Ramenman’s head on Kinnikuman’s body?
My favorite Kubrick figures are the Iwao, Announcer, Prince Kamehame and Ramenman. I love Ramenman’s green karate outfit – any other incarnation, I’m not a fan of.
I have bought all of my Kubrick figures in box, but, like most of my figures, I have decided that they are meant to be opened and enjoyed. But not all were opened.
I did not care to open the figures that didn’t belong in my favorite figures display. This allows me to also display the Kubrick Kinnikuman figures as they were in the box. I find this a nice mix with my collecting. I have done this with M.U.S.C.L.E. 4- and 10-packs and many other lines too. I like displaying the look of the original packaging.
I’d like to hear some comments – do you display your figures in or out of the box? Or both?

I usually keep old figures I come across, that just happen to be in packaging sealed, but new toy lines, I’ll open them, but not right away, they usually eat at the back of my brain .open me they say , open. Me! And finally OPEN MEEE! And then I cave in .. In a perfect world I’d like to have a complete opened and unopened set of everything .
Sorry about my punkuation. I was raised by savages!

I now have 13 of the 14 (missing Rikishiman) and very tempted to open the others 🙂
