Stir Up Saturday – M.U.S.C.L.E. HiWay Hauler

Custom Hot Wheels M.U.S.C.L.E. HiWay Hauler

If I was overly rigid with the date last time, then I’ll allow myself to be a little more liberal this time.

Five years ago History 400, which explored the prototype Hot Wheels M.U.S.C.L.E. HiWay Hauler, was completed. Like many of the early posts I don’t love the layout, but it could be worse. I remember really enjoying writing up this section. I know very little about Hot Wheels; I enjoyed digging into the topic.

I wish I would have continued to document M.U.S.C.L.E. Hauler movement. I think there has been at least one, maybe two, instances of it coming up for sale since 2009. It is such an odd little footnote in M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting. I really feel like it deserves that extra attention.

What hasn’t received any attention are the handful of haulers, and Custom Pez Haulers, I own. I had plans of churning out a few of these since I had so many stickers and trucks. Like many things M.U.S.C.L.E.-related for me it quickly fell to the bottom of the “to-do” list. But both trucks hold a special place in my heart – probably right behind the Quik tin.
