Promotional Documents for the M.U.S.C.L.E. Video Game

M.U.S.C.L.E. Game Flyer

Once again Cesar Pena, known as SmokinGun on LRG, has come through with an awesome discovery and contribution to the M.U.S.C.L.E. archives.

The Tag Team Match M.U.S.C.L.E. Video Game gets mostly hate directed at it. That is probably the reason that collectors do not pay much attention to it.

Besides The Official Nintendo Player’s Guide there are not many documented examples of the M.U.S.C.L.E. video game showing up in printed materials.

Cesar was able to find two unusual examples. The first came from an eBay auction he had won and it can be seen to the right.

1987 Bandai
Games Catalog

He was not sure what the flyer actually came with originally. He thought it may have been included in an old NES game or product.

Cesar attempted to track down some more information about the flyer. He never found a truly satisfactory answer, but he did find another appearance of the M.U.S.C.L.E. video game.

He found a 1987 Bandai Games Catalog which appears to be targeted to retailers, like the Mattel catalogs.

Except for one minor thing, there is not really any new or interesting information provided. The minor thing is that retailers had to purchase 24 games in a case. The other games come in similar cases, so M.U.S.C.L.E. was not unique. But it is an interesting factoid.
