Epilogue – Week of November 15th

Last week I received a lot of encouragement to share more positive stories. I was told it could be as simple as sharing what my boys are doing and the toys they are interested in currently.

Dummy. That’s not a legal first move.

Well, on top of being a crazy week, my youngest has been really sick all week. Barf. Peeing out his butt. Check and Check. It’s been a rough week.

On the plus side, my oldest is signed up for his first chess tournament (it’s in December). I am really excited for him. He beats me without any effort. He beat his uncle in four moves. I can’t wait for him to finally face a challenge.

He’s kind of been that lucky kid that is always on the scrappy team that makes a surprising push into the playoffs; beating the team they shouldn’t. I am hoping he’ll face a little adversity. Get his ass kicked in the first round (or however it works). I’d like him to learn that not everything will come easily to him.

Watch him win the fucking tournament.

Loved the picture – interesting. But I wouldn’t spend any amount on that set.
I can’t help it. I always do a quick Non-Poster scan.
72 figures, 28-packs, open can – it’s a pretty nice lot.
Umm. $59.99, are you sure?
55 figures that started at $0.99? Wow, awesome!
I know a lot of acronyms, but what is “GUC?”

Wow.

I don’t like chasing “exclusives.” It seems like a very tired tactic. I understand that it is effective, but I am tired of it.

With that said, I was super relieved that this will be available after the convention. I give Alien Robot Monster tons of credit for openly stating that information. He could have stoked the fear to help sales, but he didn’t. My guess is that he knew he didn’t need to do it. It is a kickass figure. This is the first “exclusive” that I honestly thought, “Shit, I’ve got to track one of these down.”

For me, this figure feels like it could have been part of Mattel’s future waves of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. If you can capture that feeling, then you will always capture my money.

I can’t wait to own this figure.

Well, this wraps up the new less-negative Epilogue. I hope you liked it. I can’t promise the AOTW won’t return. Let me rephrase that. AOTW will return.

I did like sharing a little bit about the boys. The truth is I’m a pretty happy, agreeable guy. However I hate stupidity. And the internet and M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting can quickly overwhelm you with its stupidity. It is one of the main reasons I unplug on the weekend.

I should add that I received some email supporting the recent posting of the Olive Oyl costume. Apparently M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors are also big fans of costumes. Who knew?

So to meet the needs of UofM’s readers that love M.U.S.C.L.E. and costumes, I wanted to share the gif below. What a great Power Girl costume. I think DC Comics would be proud.

It looks like GUC is internet auction parlance for ‘Good Used Condition,’ which seems subjective enough to be pretty meaningless.

And I’m pretty sure that cosplayer is BelleChere. She’s one of the more famous cosplayers out there. She has a Facebook profile: https://www.facebook.com/bellecherecostume/
