Auction Watch #260

When I saw the final prices for the 4-packs from last week I was perplexed. What was more bizarre? The final prices or that the Class A and B 4-packs ended two dollars apart.

I know 4-pack prices have been climbing recently, but I still think that is the more bizarre part. I’ve always argued that the Class A marketplace is continually shrinking. It makes sense to me that most M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors would basically say, “Who cares?”

The sales of the Uniao Festas Figures made sense to me. A few people thought they would be cool to add to their collection.

Speaking of Class A and cool, lint-speed, the King of Class A auctions, is back. He has four Class A figures and all of them are starting at $0.99. I can’t say enough positive things about this seller. He’s selling Class A figures in the most realistic fashion and it helps the M.U.S.C.L.E. hobby. I may be most impressed by his courage. He’s not afraid of “losing money,” which is the nonsensical reason most sellers sit on an outrageous price.

The first auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Muscle Men, M.u.s.c.l.e.s, Kinnikuman Class A #92, is a Class A Dark Blue #92 figure. The last documented Dark Blue #92, on this site, sold for $6.49. We haven’t seen one in some time. I think it will end higher than the previous one.

The second auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Muscle Men, M.u.s.c.l.e.s, Kinnikuman Class A #114, is also a Class A Dark Blue figure. The most recent Dark Blue #114 was a part of a 14 figure lot. It sold for $20.50 and included a Class A Dark Blue #97 figure.

The third auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Muscle Men, M.u.s.c.l.e.s, Kinnikuman Class A #123, is another Class A figure. This time it is a Purple #123 figure. I was surprised that there has never been a Purple #123 figure featured in the Auction Watch. I couldn’t find one in the Epilogue either (but I could have missed it). I’m guessing that this will be the highest priced of the four.

The fourth auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Muscle Men, M.u.s.c.l.e.s, Kinnikuman Class A #165 Salmon, brought a huge smile to my face. I don’t think this is a terribly valuable figure. I would be surprised if it sold for more than $6.50. But I love that we’ll get to see what a M.U.S.C.L.E. collector will actually pay for the figure.

We know that collector’s won’t pay $126.87, even if it is a better price than the $357.77 from over three years ago.
