Epilogue – Week of May 31st

Do I have a voice? Is this stupid website supposed to make a statement? You could say I either made a statement or pussyfooted around it with this post.

I’ve always tried to make this website a respite from the world. I know it is for me.

However I do know two things:

  1. Listen. When I don’t know what to do I feel powerless. This has made me feel a little bit better, but I think most people prefer only changing their profile picture. I also fear we’re too stupid to listen. Our country couldn’t stay home or wear masks when places like the CDC and WHO suggested it. People actually thought they knew better. They were too stupid to listen to expert medical advice. They were too stupid to understand the vast complexity of the situation. The stupidity is so bad that I’ve heard the Dunning–Kruger effect discussed in popular culture. Hearing that term outside of my work is terrifying.
  2. Companies’ PR is full of shit. I’m sure you’ve seen all the companies releasing a perfect, inoffensively written PR statement. (Except Ben and Jerry’s; those guys rule.) The senior, executive leadership doesn’t agree. I have witnessed it. I have talked to hundreds, maybe thousands, of companies about succession planning. Increasing diversity is not only the right thing to do; it’s also in the best interest of their company. I have listened to these senior leaders tell me I’m wrong. They argue with me. And in many cases, they can’t even acknowledge the problems. If you want to instantly know if an organization is racist and/or contributing to systematic-racism, then ask to see their succession plans. You will have an instant answer.

MUSCLE Figures Forever Unsold

“Forever Unsold”

Let’s circle back to M.U.S.C.L.E. toys.

Do you have any dirtier figures?
In days passed, this would have been an easy AOTW. My money is on an idiot buying it.
Heeeey, Macarena.

I can’t believe how many listings are too stupid to mention, but no longer AOTW worthy too. Damn.

Forever Unsold was introduced last week. There weren’t any additional criteria suggested, which, obviously, means I’ve initiated another infallible creation. 😉

If there are ever any listing suggestions, then please let me know.

Figuring out the best formatting has been the biggest problem with Forever Unsold. I think this will be version 1.0.

The $23 can easily defeated his competitors last week. I thought it might be a little closer, but it was a blow-out. Let’s examine our contestants this week.

The AOTW #1 easily secured their position with the $19 BIN for a single Flesh figure. She showed she had championship potential with her auction description, “Kids did not like him, grownup kids now search for him, especially in flesh color.” Wow.

The AOTW #2 could have been selected for any of the $14.95 single M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. But when I saw the two #126 figures listed in a row it sealed the deal for me. If you’re going to price-gouge, then shouldn’t you pretend you aren’t flush with the figure?

The AOTW #3 assumes $3.71 per Flesh figure is a great price. Does that not sound good? What if the BIN was $245? Still no? Now you know why they were selected.

Finally we have the AOTW #4. This is the perfect lot. It is the perfect lot if you want to pay $40 for 4 figures. It is the perfect lot is you want to pay $40 for about $4 worth of #112 figures.

Cast your vote and crown the next AOTW Fatal-Four Way winner. Again, here are the four contestants:

There used to be a long write-up about the first and second ULTIMATE AOTW Battle of the Champions Winners. The 3rd winner has a tiny backstory, which made me think we don’t need the full saga anymore.

With the world seemingly spiraling out of control, I love collecting m.u.s.c.l.e. My next statement will easily fit on to the bumper sticker of any electric car. “Don’t get uptight..Unite” It is a simple statement and hopefully not political. To me it sums up my feelings about a country torn by by current events. Whether we can fix it or not is yet to be seen. But to quote Billy Joel “WE DIDN’T START THE FIRE” It was always burning since the Earths been turning. I can’t be fired..ALL lives matter.
