Art 100 Changes & the 233 Counterfeit Collection

Art 100 has been the home for various information regarding counterfeit figures. Because the focus of the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. was squarely on the Mattel release of M.U.S.C.L.E. toys it seemed appropriate to only provide a broad view of counterfeit figures.

It now appears that Art 100 needs to evolve in a similar way to Art 300’s evolution. While the final configuration has not been decided, it is clear that one particular aspect will be added – a virtual collection of counterfeit figures. The LittleRubberGuys.com board member Biffard and possibly other collectors are attempting to collect counterfeit versions of the 233 figures featured on the M.U.S.C.L.E. poster.

The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. will attempt to document the full collection through the submission of collectors’ pictures. Additionally, Art 100 will add a section for counterfeit M.U.S.C.L.E. figures that are Frankenstein-like amalgams of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures or completely original sculpts derived from the M.U.S.C.L.E. (or Kinnikuman) sculpt.

If you have any counterfeit figures that you would like added to the virtual “Counterfeit Collection,” then please send them to the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. with the figure’s poster number and a brief explanation of the physical quality and characteristics of the figure (i.e., flexible, rigid, etc.) similar to the descriptions in Art 100.

Psyched, I’m so glad you’re doing this! And I love those amalgam figures 🙂
