Auction Watch #41

Normally Auction Watch attempts to showcase auctions to M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors that would be interesting for a variety of reasons: uniqueness, price, scale, etc. Occasionally an auction is featured because it is absolutely outlandish. Auction Watch #41 features three auctions – each more peculiar than the last.

Auction Watch #40

Auction Watch #39 had an example of a collector identifying a popular figure, Satan Cross, and offering the seller a Buy-It-Now scenario to snatch up the figure. Eschewing the morality of that situation, Auction Watch #40 showcases an opportunity for all M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors to have a great Buy-It-Now opportunity plus an interesting Color figure auction.

Auction Watch #38

Sometimes it’s fun to just see something because it is big. Sometimes it’s fun to see something because it’s dumb. Auction Watch #38 lets you see both.

Auction Watch #37

Art 100 showcases the variety of counterfeit figures created in the wake of the popularity of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. For some collectors these figures represent nothing more than sloppy copies of the beloved figures. Other collectors might see the uniqueness, kitschiness, and/or historicalness of the figures. Auction Watch #37 gives us an opportunity to focus on one unique counterfeit figure, and acknowledge the other figures.

Foolish April Weekend?

Normally during early April the internet is bombarded with April Fools’ pranks. Rarely do they prove to actually be fun. As the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. started to tease collectors that a Purple #153 auction was getting closer, it appeared that the auction could be something fun that actually happened near April 1st. Instead the first weekend in April had mixed results.

Purple #153 Warning

2009 saw lots of M.U.S.C.L.E. events that were of great interest to collectors. The question becomes, “Will the Purple #153 simply be another eBay auction or will it turn out to be one of the big events of 2010?”

The People vs. M.U.S.C.L.E. – Part 2

The People vs. M.U.S.C.L.E. – Part 2 follows the same framework for M.U.S.C.L.E. advertising that had been established the previous year in the two commercials. Sadly, for the final M.U.S.C.L.E. commercial there appears to be a far less focused approach. However, hardcore Color figure collectors likely view this commercial as the single greatest thirty seconds of video ever uncovered.

New Literature Discovery

Recently the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. made over a dozen new literature discoveries. Many of the discoveries may force the creation and/or complete reconstruction of the Literature courses. Sadly there have been many challenges posting comprehensive updates. However, the discovery of the November 1986 issue of Working Mother seemed too exciting not to share.
