What Was the Most Important M.U.S.C.L.E. Event of 2010?

In 2007 and 2008 Nathan’s M.U.S.C.L.E. Blog presented a “Year in Review” feature. Nathan’s M.U.S.C.L.E. Blog was unable to put together a 2009 list, so the 2009 “Review” was given to the University of M.U.S.C.L.E.

It’s time to start thinking about the most important M.U.S.C.L.E. events of 2010. Instead of the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. deciding on the most important event of 2010, the decision is left in the hands of the M.U.S.C.L.E. community. Several memorable M.U.S.C.L.E. events from 2010 are listed below as potential choices.

#153 Madness

The 233 Counterfeit Collection

Action Figure and Space Creature Party

Figure Guide
1st Draft

The 2nd DM

Your choice, with supporting rationale, should be posted in the Comments section below.

If you feel that a big event was omitted, then please email a hyperlink documenting the event and rationale why it should be included to the University of M.U.S.C.L.E., and it will be added to the list of choices.

Thank you in advance for your participation. 2010 looks to have been another memorable year for M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors. Hopefully 2011 will be even better with more interesting discoveries, more memorable events, and greater positive community involvement.

I have my vote, but I want to wait until a couple other votes have been cast. Or the post is completely forgotten about.

    Whichever comes first.

Claw madness, easily. It’s just nuts how much claws have been selling for the last year. It seems like every new collector is dying to overpay for a claw. I won’t complain too much though, as I made a nice chink of change selling my claw collection and claw 10 packs. 😉 But yes, easily the most important M.U.S.C.L.E. topic this past year.

I’d rate the figure guide and bootleg efforts a close 2nd and 3rd.

Another DM isn’t really big news, although the drama that always accompanies another SR is compelling.

And homebrew M.U.S.C.L.E. videos, while awesome, aren’t ever going to be top new of the year, unless of course, they make an epic 90 minute movie. Ha ha ha.

umm, not to toot my own horn or anything but maybe me finding a legit purple claw for a $1 might be worthy of a mention?

My vote goes for “The 233 Counterfeit Collection”. It was something new to the MUSCLE community. It brought the community closer and to work together.

I’d have to vote for either the counterfeit collection or figure guide.
The figure guide has really helped a lot of collectors understand a little more about muscle classification but the bootlegs are fascinating and a complete virtual collection of all 233 muscle figures would be interesting and awesome!!!

SR discoveries, collector speculation and classification, market fluctuation, and fan art are all instances of which we see repeated instances of nearly every year.

I would have to say that the most significant M.U.S.C.L.E. related event of 2010 would be the initiation of and ensuing conversations between English speaking Kinnikufans and Kinnikuman co-creator, Takashi Shimada.

His subsequent interest in “Matell Keshi,” and the American Yudekki that collect them, form a most interesting present-day connection between the worlds of Kinnikuman and M.U.S.C.L.E.

…And not to break your balls too much, it would be nice to see that last batch of pictures I submitted to the Counterfeit Collection posted. It’s only been a few months now, hehe!

I’d say the contact with part of Yudetamago is the most significant event as well. This could really explode our hobby if enough people from the line’s original country get interested in it.

I change my Claw vote to Yudetamago getting the hots for M.U.S.C.L.E. Defintely the event of the year, if not the decade.

I’d say the figure guide, with the counterfeits a close second.
