History 100 – An introduction to the toy line
Toys and packaging, this relationship has such varied impact on such a wide array of people. Manufactures believe it will be the key to getting their product off the shelf. Retailers believe it needs to conserve space on the shelf. Children know it houses their plaything on a shelf. And someday a collector will insist it is in mint condition on their shelf. Rarely does the packaging help define the toy itself. M.U.S.C.L.E. had three packaging options and each one helped to define the toy.
A complete visual archive of each figure can be seen in the Library. The archive shows every color the figure was made in, plus any specific and/or anecdotal notes about the figure. These figures were housed within three packaging options:
