This week eBay seller lhssenior, also known as lhssenior on LRG, has all of the most interesting M.U.S.C.L.E. auctions – even if none of them are technically M.U.S.C.L.E. items.
The first auction, SD Kinnikuman Black Hole Sunshine BHS Japanese M.U.S.C.L.E. Muscle Peg Attached, is a super-deformed Sunshine keshi figure. The auction has all the hallmarks of a great auction, but the most amazing part is that the figure still has his peg attached. The combination of the cute little figure with the peg still attached, in an almost whimsical position, really makes this an attractive and interesting figure.
Sunshine collectors are a passionate group, and this is likely to appeal to Kinnikuman and M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors both. This broad audience will likely push the price fairly high for such a tiny figure.
The final price of the first auction will be $23.50.
The second auction, Kinnikuman Novelty Pack Including Claw Japanese M.U.S.C.L.E. Men Muscle, has many interesting features. The first is that an officially licensed keychain has been made from Kinnikuman figures. Modern M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting has seen plenty of people haphazardly screw a keychain into a M.U.S.C.L.E. figure and call it art – plus tack on a ridiculous price tag.
With this item it is a fully licensed Kinnikuman keychain – small but important distinction. Sadly the licensing does not necessarily make a more attractive keychain. However, the real interesting part is that one of the figures is the #153 M.U.S.C.L.E. figure known as “The Claw.”
M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors have elevated this figure to Satan Cross-like status, perhaps even surpassing the adulation of Satan Cross. The inclusion of the #153 figure will likely raise the price of this auction significantly.
The final price of the second auction will be $34.50.
The third and fourth auctions also capitalize on the popularity of the #153 figure. The third auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Men Custom Claw Lot of 5 Muscle All Milky Off White Shades, features five off-white figures. At first glance they appear to be some type of thermal- or hydro-changing figures, but there is nothing in the auction that specifies that idea. If they are truly just five off-white figures, then it seems far less likely that collectors will be worked into too great of a frenzy. The final price of the third auction will be $15.
The fourth auction, Huge M.U.S.C.L.E. Men Custom Claw Lot Muscle, is a lot of ten custom #153 figures. Unlike the previous lot this lot has far more variety – guaranteed to drive the final price higher. Because the colors of these custom #153 figures are pretty basic it may appeal to more novice collectors that do not already have similar figures. Of course, once the #153 figure enters the fray logic does not always apply.
The final price of the fourth auction will be $54.50
