M.U.S.C.L.E. Poster Tubes

Hawkeye was kind enough to send in some pictures of his M.U.S.C.L.E. mailing tube. The tube shipped the posters that Mattel offered on the backs of 4-packs and 28-packs. The poster itself is examined in Advertising & Promotion 100.

As for Hawkeye’s poster tube (Tube #2), it appears that the second tube is considerably lighter than the first tube. The second tube also appears to still have the white plastic plugs for each end of the tube.

The color difference in the tube color could be anything from sun damage, dye differences, or even different suppliers. And the additional of the caps seems to illustrate a 100% complete tube. These differences do not currently suggest any radical new thinking.

However, they do help to solidify the idea that Syosset, NY was the absolute hub for Mattel’s promotional M.U.S.C.L.E. poster.
