Auction Watch #64

The #153 figure has been altered, colored, shrunk, and enlarged – but this pairing might be a first.

The auction, Idznak Toys m.u.s.c.l.e. claw GID w’ peg thing custom, features an interesting 2-pack of figures. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to fully decipher the non-#153 figure. The auction states:

Idznak Toys tribute series, resin figures-2 pack-glow in the dark. Limited edition-numbered. by Ed Haskel…your bidding on 1 pack. colors may vary.

The non-#153 figure appears to be a customized vintage Fisher-Price Little People figure, but neither the auction description nor the auction pictures provides a clear view of the figure. The #153 in the 2-pack appears to be an exact replica of the #153 figure.

Most disappointing is that the color selection is completely random. The #153 figures appear to be monochromatic, but the custom Little People seem significantly different from one another. And even though it’s not entirely clear what the figure looks like, some of the color combinations are far more interesting than others.

On the plus side the starting bid is very fair and the seller, rollinaround, has perfect feedback. The shipping seems a bit higher than a USPS Flat Rate box, but still seems reasonable.

There are not any other known custom M.U.S.C.L.E. figures from IDZNAK TOYS founder Ed Haskel – which makes this discovery very interesting. This could either entice potential buyers or temper interest until a more sustainable M.U.S.C.L.E. connection is established.

The final price for a 2-pack from this auction will be $13.50.

the peg sculpt is a peg “body” with a hand holding a sphere in it. very strange but it would explain why the 153 sculpt would be included. definitely one of the stranger “cross-overs” i have ever seen.
