The first auction, M.U.S.C.L.E Kinnikuman Y/S.N.T 125 Red BUKA (A) Class A Mini Figure Uncommon HTF, is an especially exciting auction for a very specific set of M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors. The Red #125 is a Class A figure, which makes him appealing to collectors trying to collect a Master Set.
But the Red #125 is one of the most elusive Class A figures. As of writing this the auction is already at $102.50. It is not unreasonable to imagine the figure’s price will continue to increase. This is the type of auction, because of the elusiveness of the figure, that will be decided solely by the MRT.
The second auction, Lot Of 90 Vintage Muscle Men Action Figures M.U.S.C.L.E. Various Colors FUN!!, is another very interesting auction. There are 90 figures in the auction, but it is three specific figures that make the auction interesting.First there is the Salmon Class B #3 figure. Sadly the figure is missing his left arm. But will a die-hard Sunshine collector want this figure as a place holder? Perhaps.
But picking this lot up for a bargain is unlikely because of the two Toxic Crusaders figures. These figures are popular with many collectors and appear on eBay far less than a Flesh #180 figure.
Auction Watch #153 would be a total failure is the M.U.S.C.L.E. #153 figure wasn’t mentioned.
The #153 figure (the “Claw”) is far and away the most popular and iconic M.U.S.C.L.E. figure. There really isn’t even a close second. With that popularity comes a distortion – most often in regards to price. The first auction, the Red Class A #125, has a high price. But that price is based on data and the mutual collector experience.
What makes #153 so unique is that it doesn’t really have an interesting backstory, like Satan Cross, that drives its price. It is just an iconic figure. Many sellers believe the figure deserves a premium. It might. But the auction below show the wide scope of distortion that take place with the #153 M.U.S.C.L.E. figure.
