All of the 2011 Auction Watches have finally been updated, which means a full 2011 Auction Watch Review can finally take place.
The volatility of M.U.S.C.L.E. prices seem to be getting more intense. Amazingly, over the last three years, nearly 3/4’s of the final value predictions contained with Auction Watch have been within $20 or less. The 2011 Auction Watches also had the highest number of predictions within $5 – double from 2010.
Hopefully collectors have continued to enjoy Auction Watch as a regular University of M.U.S.C.L.E. feature. This year saw some tweaks and changes within Auction Watch in an effort to keep things fun and interesting. Some were surprisingly successful and some were terribly unsuccessful.
The same methodology that was used in the 2009 and 2010 Auction Watch Reviews was used for 2011 review. This resulted in 65 predictions that were examined. A simple grading system was devised, looking at the absolute value dollar difference between the prediction price and the final price.
- Auctions predicted 100% correctly and/or had a $0 to $10 difference received an A.
- There were 34 A’s
- Auctions with a $11 to $20 difference received a B.
- There were 12 B’s
- Auctions with more than a $20 difference received a C.
- There were 19 C’s
In 2012 the accuracy of predictions is sure to fluctuate between stunningly accurate and comically wrong. Regardless which end of the spectrum final price predictions end up, hopefully M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors get a little bit of fun and enjoyment injected into their day!

I was reunited with MUSCLE MEN in 2011 after years and years apart. Your site is a great resource and a lot of fun. Thanks and keep up the good work!
