Auction Watch #25

For the third week in a row three auctions are spotlighted in Auction Watch. And for the third week in a row each auction brings something different to the M.U.S.C.L.E. community.

The first auction, Factory Sealed M.U.S.C.L.E. Men SATANCROSS 10-Pack NEW!, is spotlighted because of any interesting drop in price. Roughly a month ago the same item was available with a starting bid $200 higher than the current listing. This reduction is likely caused by two factors: (1) the seller attempting to find the correct price point; and (2) there being more than one of these items available. Regardless of collectors’ opinions regarding the seller, all collectors would agree that he wants to maximize his earnings from M.U.S.C.L.E. items. It seems very out of character for this seller to rapidly and drastically drop the price for this type of item.

This item in the first auction will likely continue to remain unsold.

The second auction, SATAN CROSS CLAW KINNIKUMAN MUSCLE, seems to highlight the inexplicable excitement that continues for both Satan Cross and #153 (the “Claw”) auctions. This seller appears to be anxious to jump on the bandwagon by listing these figures together. These figures are not M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, but rather their Japanese Kinkesi counterparts.

This items in the second auction will likely sell for $4.50.

The third auction, M.U.S.C.L.E. Men Poster, may be the auction most worth seriously considering purchasing. The auction description is painfully brief:

M.U.S.C.L.E. Men Poster for sale. Excellent condition. Hard to find in this condition.
**FREE SHIPPING**

And while the pictures are also limited, based on what can be seen it does appear to be in excellent condition. While the price tag does seem high with an opening bid of $69.99 (and a Buy-It-Now of $79.99), there does seem to be a contingency of collectors that covet a pristine M.U.S.C.L.E. poster. For those collectors finically committed to finding one, this might be an excellent opportunity.

The item in the third auction will likely sell for the Buy-It-Now price of $79.99, as a poster in lesser condition sold for ~$40 roughly five months ago.

Follow-Up:
As predicted, the first auction’s item was unsold.

The result of the third auction may have been the most surprising. The poster did not receive any bids and the Buy-It-Now option was not used.
