While there may not be a large number of exciting auctions, the first auction, Set of M.U.S.C.L.E. Figures – With Poster! Includes All Four 28-Pack Sets!, certainly has a large number of items included.
The auction includes: four 28-packs, ten empty 10-packs, 112 figures, and the color poster. Sadly two of the 28-packs have had the poster offers cut out. While not catastrophic for display purposes it may turn off some collectors. However, the real gem of this auction is the poster.
The color poster, while not “rare,” certainly shows up on eBay with less regularity than its flesh counterpart. This poster appears to be in fairly decent condition. The largest blemish appearing to be a tear on the left edge of the poster. The poster has also been marked by stickers. Many children had colored in the white stars when they collected a figure. This original owner had used small star stickers.
While not terrible, this poster is unlikely to be a “trade-up” for a poster collector. This is likely to be a nice “entry” poster for a collector looking to pick-up the color poster. This could suggest the poster selling for more than expected as enthusiasm usually factors in significantly when M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors have the opportunity to add something new.
It’s hard to say if the additional items included in this auction will actually entice bidders. The additional items will certainly make bidders more comfortable to spend more. The final price of the first auction will be $166.The second auction, M.U.S.C.L.E muscle lot colored flesh rare vintage 80’s Monsters in my Pocket , has one specific gem – an outrageously warped #30.
The “quality” of this #30 is in its stunning lack of quality. However, active collectors of these types of figures are limited. Because the overall lot is rather insignificant (assuming there is nothing special about the Monster in my Pocket figures) it seems unlikely that bidding will be too intense for this auction.
The final price of the second auction will be $17.50.
