Auction Watch #32

There are very few redeeming qualities about this auction. However, there is one aspect that could cause a M.U.S.C.L.E. collector to dream.

Auction Watch #31

Surprisingly, this is the first time the M.U.S.C.L.E. Battlin’ Belt has been featured as an Auction Watch item. This Battlin’ Belt auction seems like an ideal debut.

Auction Watch #30

The M.U.S.C.L.E. poster has been mentioned several times within the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. The most notable examples are within the 28-Pack Poster Offer and with the clarification that there are only only 2 posters. Hopefully the Advertising & Promotion 100 course, highlighting the poster, will be completed soon. In the meantime, this auction for a “Color” poster is worth highlighting.

New Nestle Quik Figures

The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. recently featured two sealed M.U.S.C.L.E. figures from the Nestle Quik promotion in Auction Watch #28. The winner of those two auctions, Bill R. (vette88 from LRG.com), was kind enough to take a picture of each of the sealed figures. These figures have been added to Advertising & Promotion 300.

Auction Watch #29

Normally the appearance of a Spinning Head Ashurman (SHA) brings a fair amount of anticipation and wonder to the M.U.S.C.L.C. community. This SHA auction could currently be the least well received auction for a “Super Rare” figure – which begs the question, “Why is this auction being met with such cynicism?”

One of the most mysterious, and fun, aspects of M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting relates to the Nestle Quik promotion (which is examined in Advertising & Promotion 300). Figures still sealed within the promotional package, which was enclosed in the Nestle Quik tin, are not often discovered. This week two figures have been discovered.

Auction Watch #27

It appears M.U.S.C.L.E. sellers have a bit of a holiday hangover, because buyers’ options are currently not very exciting or plentiful. However, there is an auction worth highlighting. It represents a conundrum that often faces M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors. The conundrum is price versus value.

Auction Watch #26

As of today (1/6/09), there are 47 auctions featuring Marty Hansen’s work on eBay. Because of the challenges facing Marty Hansen the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. strongly urges collectors, at this time, to buy directly from the creator.

What was the Biggest M.U.S.C.L.E. Event 0f 2009?

In 2007 and then, again, in 2008 Nathan’s M.U.S.C.L.E. Page presented a “Year in Review” feature. Nathan’s M.U.S.C.L.E. Page was unable to put together a list this year, so the task has been given to the University of M.U.S.C.L.E.

2009 Auction Watch Review

As stated in Auction Watch #1, the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. simply wants to highlight auctions that might be “funny, unique, and/or interesting” to the M.U.S.C.L.E. community and offer some commentary. However, within an academic setting it seems appropriate to assign a grade to the Auction Watch predictions. In the end, 21 predictions were examined.
