Art 200 – Wolf Voigt Spotlight

Wolf Voigt’s arrival to the M.U.S.C.L.E. community was somewhat mysterious through eBay. However he quickly reached out to the M.U.S.C.L.E. community and even the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. too.

His work started somewhat raw (like the pictures in the review) but he showed impressive acumen and his quality and innovation grew by leaps and bounds with each figure – something that M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors immediately noticed.

The “Claw” (#153) proved to be an inspiration for Wolf Voigt, although it was M.U.S.C.L.E. figure #59 that originally drew him to M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. His love for #59 was unable to displace his real passion, Masters of the Universe – He-Man.

Below are a few examples of Wolf’s work.

Wolf Voigt's Custom He-Man M.U.S.C.L.E. Figures

Wolf always kept his childhood He-Man collection, which had been the catalyst for starting to experiment with creating figures. His original goal was to create simple copies of his favorite figures which could be easily painted gold. As Wolf experimented and practice he started to look at other materials for casting. Plastic resin offered him the opportunity to create Glow-In-The-Dark weapons for the Masters of the Universe figure named Scare-Glow.

Soon Wolf had created a connection between M.U.S.C.L.E. and He-Man that was not limited to the Mattel brand. His figures were branching out from copies of figures to original and fun kitbashed-type figures.

Wolf’s creation of custom figures has tapered off significantly. He now focuses on helping other customizers and artists through his business – SolarColorDust.com.

    Chad,
I’m excited & humbled to be put in this spotlight; thank you!
I’ve certainly met a lot of intereresting people in the past few years I’ve been with the MUSCLE community. I’ve had the honor to be a part of some really awesome collaborations using my pigments – 1 Shot Toyz, TGB, Half Bad Toyz, Mad Joe & Daniel Smith -TURBOPISTOLA to name a few.
Unfortunatelly I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with one or two big name jackasses too; but we wont go there today.
Although I’ve been out of the picture in making my own customs, I still do my best to back other artists and their projects in one way or another.
Thank you again for the exposure Chad. If you or anyone from the community needs me I’m always happy to help.
    Wolf

Certainly one heck of a guy! I have some samples of his powders to pass on to other custom toy makers as I meet them. As soon as I get to a run of GITD figures I will be hitting you up… I know I keep saying that but it’s coming.
But yeah, great guy and equally great products!
