Did you have a good week? Good!
Oh – you didn’t? Well…it’s Friday. You can enjoy the weekend!
Oh. You have to work this weekend. And you have cancer. And you have weeks to live.
Well…
Enjoy the Epilogue!
Those three sentences sum up writing the Epilogue each week. I try to start out happy, but it just feels like things keep bringing me down; like when you find yourself talking to a “Negative Nancy.” But then I just push ahead hoping it turns out well.
Was that the most grim way to open the Epilogue? Maybe. Sorry. Sometimes I need to just ramble to get things going. (Normally I just edit it out. Not this week!)Umm, have you see this? A $500 BIN or you can make an offer. I really feel like it shames this one with logic. If you look back at some SHA prices, then the $500 seems on the slightly higher-end of fair.
I would not argue that SHA is worth $500. The worth of M.U.S.C.L.E. toys is a different discussion. But, given actual sales data, it is hard to reasonably argue with the price. Unemotional data has shaped what I would argue is a realistic price of Beta figures. My preference would have been an auction format, but I understand in this particular situation it is only preference.
If this stays unsold through the weekend, then I will be shocked.
– This might be one of my favorite lots – ever!
– I wish this was an auction starting at $0.99, but I love the figures.
– I was going to praise it, but the shipping is too much.
– I think this guy is under-selling the lot. It’s not too bad.
– These must be super mint if he broke them out.
– This seller is ON TOP of this auction.
– I scanned past this auction so easily I had to point it out.
– It is a nice mixed lot. But maybe a priceless MIMP will drive up the price?
I can’t even begin to figure out how the seller arrived at this price. He has other bad M.U.S.C.L.E. auctions, but nothing like this one. The only scenario that makes any sense is that the seller wanted to be AOTW.
I dare you to come up with anything that makes one ounce of sense. You can’t do it. I dare you.
Finally, I really like the picture below. However it hit one of my pet peeves right on the head. I find it frustrating when people like a figure for its exclusivity. There are so many reasons to love minifigures. Liking something just because someone else can’t have it just seems wrong to me.
I know it’s not, but it will always be one of my pet peeves.

Whatever happened to our $1,199 Purple Claw auction?

Good question.
He must have heard the sound of laughter, but I don’t think it has fully sunk in yet.
He dropped the starting bid to $799, and then he dropped it to $700. Of course, it never received any bids.
He has not relisted it…yet.
