Wolf Voigt – Custom Figures

Recently on Auction Watch #22 an auction with a custom #153 was featured. Not much information was known about the creator of this figure. Recently the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. contacted the seller wanting to know a little more about the creator. It turns out his name is Wolf Voigt and he had this to say:

Wow, I really never thought that my auctions would gain this much exposure nor that there was this huge of a fan-base for M.U.S.C.L.E. men! I am humbled and honored you had written an article about me and my custom#153 Claw figures! I must tell you that I am still new when it comes to casting figures and am learning something every day when it comes to the quality and performance on the glow/thermochromic figurines. I actually started casting Masters of the Universe power swords by using a two part plastic resin where it would create a very cool looking clear look to my collection. After a while I experimented with different glow in the dark powders and eventually the thermochromic material to make it change color in hot/cold water. Eventually I moved on to other lines, like Star Wars and now M.U.S.C.L.E. men! I’m currently waiting to hear back from those who have purchased a custom Claw from me to make sure they are happy with the quality and address any concerns before I list anymore on Ebay. Because the material I use is a two part resin, occasionally air bubbles will become trapped in the figure. As minor as I may think it is, others may differ and customer satisfaction is my #1 concern. After looking at TheGodBeast’s different customs, it appears he uses a plastic injection method and different type of material than what I use. He definitely has very impressive work! I’m very sure his art goes at a high price. I try to keep my customs at a reasonable price, however, at the same time trying not to flood the market with too many thermo-men. I am currently in the process of making additional versions of color changing Claw figures and plan on finding a Phantom Wrestler so that I may make a custom from it as well. Please stay in touch and let me know how I can be of service to the M.U.S.C.L.E. fan base!

Based on these recent posts from the LittleRubberGuys.com message board there are some mixed reactions. It is unknown if other collectors have received figures and provided Mr. Voigt feedback, but it appears as if he has already listed several additional custom figures – plus posted videos on YouTube.

In the interest of full disclosure it should be noted:

  • The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. does not know Mr. Voigt and is not associated with him in anyway.
  • The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. has not received any figures, nor have any figures been purchased or inspected in person.
  • The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. is not endorsing or discrediting Mr. Voigt.

The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. will continue to watch the development of this customizer and his figures. If it becomes appropriate, then his work will be added to either Art 100 or Art 200.
