OMFG! from October Toys (June 14, 2011):
Hopefully the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. will be able to bring more exciting news regarding OMFG! soon.
Don’t say that.
And then there was one last hint on Twitter.
It appears that sometimes subtly is actually imperceptibility.
The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. is ecstatic to announce the sale of an exclusive color of OMFG! Series 1 figures! The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. decided to become an exclusive vendor for these figures for several reasons. However, it is probably best summarized by the fact that these figures are the first 100% original figures that are truly reminiscent of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, designed to be sold to a much broader market than a few collectors, and intended to be sold at a very affordable price point.
These figures, in nearly every capacity, pay homage to M.U.S.C.L.E. (and many of the small monochromatic figures of the 1980’s) while maintaining an original and unique sensibility.
Today there are not many official details to release, but it was simply too exciting to withhold the announcement any longer. The figures will be available for purchase from The School Store. The packaging design and figure color has not been decided.
In speaking with George from October Toys it was discovered that the final figure colors will not be finalized until much closer to the August 10th funding date.
For the time being the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. will focus on packaging design and potential figure colors. Hopefully artists and collectors will be very interested in sharing their ideas regarding both aspects of the figures.
Artists can email ideas and/or sketches regarding packaging to the University of M.U.S.C.L.E..
Collectors are welcome to post in the comment section of this post, or any upcoming OMFG! Figure posts. There is already a great deal of discussion regarding colors taking place at the October Toys forum (OMFG! – Forum Mini Figs – The Discussion Thread) as well as the LittleRubberGuys.com forum.
The University of M.U.S.C.L.E. is very aware that Flesh, Black, Light Blue, and Neon Green appear to be the current choices for the various groups selecting colors.

Great news! Being selfish, I LOVE the magenta color (like 806). But from a retailer point of view (AKA how can I move all 200 sets?) a more generic color might be better. Like red (1788) or purple (2592) or white.
For package design, it would be cool if they were lined up in a row and each figure has its own separate box/compartment. With a clear plastic(?) covering the front and a header card above it with a peg hole for hanging. This is basically for MOC display.

With LRG having the green exclusive color. UofM should get the exclusive grape color. Just like the MUSCLE board game colors. 😉
