The 28-Pack

The 28-pack write-up has been long delayed because of the desire to add individual pictures of each 28-pack figure. Additionally, there are a few 28-pack pictures that also need to be taken. Instead of withholding the entire topic it seemed better to make the current information available; adding pictures and various improvements over time.

The M.U.S.C.L.E. Mega-Match Game

The Mega-Match board game is effectively absent from any Mattel and M.U.S.C.L.E.-related documents of the eighties. This does not make the game an accidental oddity that reached the marketplace. The board game is actually very common and, to some degree, regarded as the least exciting aspect of the M.U.S.C.L.E. brand by many collectors. This does not mean there aren’t a few interesting aspects of the board game.

History 400 Completed

There are several M.U.S.C.L.E. items that collectors would likely categorize as rare. However there is only one M.U.S.C.L.E. item that can be 100% authenticated as a prototype M.U.S.C.L.E. item – the Hot Wheels M.U.S.C.L.E. HiWay Hauler.

History 400 explores the history of the M.U.S.C.L.E. and the Hot Wheels HiWay Hauler.

The 4-Pack

The 4-pack packaging allowed for a child to see the four figures they would be purchasing. Today collectors can see the differences in English and French-Canadian cards, changes to the back of the cards, and consider the potential of 140 possible 4-pack combinations. This entry on the 4-pack is a subcategory of History 100.

Hard Knockin’ Rockin’ Ring Wrestling Arena

A wrestling ring accessory makes the most sense for a group of wrestling figures. Mattel recognized they could use some existing parts from Bandai’s release of previous versions of the ring. The box art shows a seemingly metallic clasp. Unfortunately Mattel decided to use a brittle plastic on the figure clamps and this toy was easily broken.

The Discredited Super Rare: X-2, “The Futuristic Goalie”

Brant Snell was the first M.U.S.C.L.E. collector to discover this interesting figure. M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors can become so enthralled with the notion and history of a figure that it can even retain its value after being proven NOT to be a Super Rare figure. This was the case for a figure called X-2 or The Futuristic Goalie.
