M.U.S.C.L.E. figure #25 (Prince Kamehame)
by Professor Terry
Now then, for me Prince Kamehame was just one of those smaller M.U.S.C.L.E. figures that was a bit ho-hum. What changed my opinion was going to Hawaii on my honeymoon in October last year. I found out #25 Prince Kamehame is based on the real King Kamehameha who ruled Hawaii for 30 years.
He is also known as Kamehameha the Great – which ties in with the Kinnikuman storyline as the first Kinnikuman Great is actually Prince Kamehame!
Then I saw him on Hawaiian license plates (I collect plates as well) so my interest in this figure skyrocketed. When I got home I decided I wanted more Kamehame figures in my collection. There isn’t a massive amount to be found and I have seen a couple of figures with white beards.
To me it makes him look like Papa Smurf! Maybe Papa Smurf should use Just For Men’s grey hair removal product. But I digress.
So my Prince Kamehame collection consists of the regular M.U.S.C.L.E. and Kinkeshi – though I have since traded the Class A Red #25. My favorite pieces are the Exogini and the Kubrick figures because they were much tougher to find but still cheap. My dream is to find more of the Kinkeshi Part 30 sculpt as he’s a bit bulkier and figures that have more chunkiness to them appeal to me.
So there you have it – some MMMM and a little history rolled into one!
