Stir Up Saturday – Thematic Title

Namu Niku Meat FiguresYikes. Professor Terry has 54 pieces of Meat.

MMMM #46 reminded me again of how far Meat has fallen. In the early days of M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting it seemed like the “baby” M.U.S.C.L.E. figures still got a fair amount of love. It wasn’t SC, or even X-2, levels of admiration and desire but there was some level of it.

MMMM #46 might be the last example I can remember where someone essentially said, “I like this figure.”

#35 (Example #3)
Melted Left Hand

This Manufacturing Error Figures Update has a cool figure, but couldn’t have been more transactional. I clearly had nothing to say.

When I see a post like this one, I wonder what was specifically happening. Was I busy? Was it something fun? Was it something shitty? Was I running short of content?

I actually looked back and did some research this time. I’m 99.99% sure I was an extra for BvS at this time five years ago.

Glad I could dig up that disappointment again. It does explain the posts.

Finally there was the second SUS. If I had read that post before doing any research, then I would have found a very simple solution to my curiosity.

Two thoughts after reading that SUS. First, I’m no longer embarrassed I had to learn a lesson.

DC Superman Detroit FilmingIt would be embarrassing if I never learned a lesson. Can you imagine how sad it would be to remain unchanged through almost 20 years of M.U.S.C.L.E. collecting?

That would be sad and embarrassing.

Second, how soon does a film crew know that a movie is hot garbage? BvS is not a good movie. It had some fun parts, but it was a total mess. How soon did the crew know? Maybe they don’t know until the premier. So many people touch it from the day it is filmed to the premiere. That is the only film set I have ever been on. I had no idea. I just wanted to end up on the screen.

But looking back, maybe the crew knew. Everything took forever and nobody ever seemed happy or relaxed. I can’t point to one happy, fun experience I saw or experienced myself.

I’m also curious to see when I started trying to give the post thematic titles. The first two SUS’s were very post specific. I’m interested to see when the switch to weeks and attempting thematic titles happened.

How can I not pick “Thematic Title” as the title this week?
