Auction Watch #26

As of today (1/6/09), there are 47 auctions featuring Marty Hansen’s work on eBay. Because of the challenges facing Marty Hansen the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. strongly urges collectors, at this time, to buy directly from the creator.

Sociology 300 – Lucas Rage

If the response to Sociology 300 questionnaire gauged the level of M.U.S.C.L.E. love and devotion, then Lucas Rage would be placed as the top, exemplar score.

Lucas is simply stunningly interesting and devoted to M.U.S.C.L.E.

Sociology 200 – Example #1

These pictures are from the summer of 2009, likely June. My son, about 20 months old, had grabbed some extra figures that had been part of an eBay purchase. My plan to have everything neatly put away before he woke up was spoiled. It was probably the most fun I have ever had with M.U.S.C.L.E. figures.

Literature 200 Completed

The only documented example of M.U.S.C.L.E. in a mail order catalog is the 1986 Sears Wishbook. Sears, along with Mattel and most advertisers, seemed unsure of the figures proper place – although the placement suggests probably the best understanding of the brand. Read more in Literature 200.

M.U.S.C.L.E. Invasion Update

M.U.S.C.L.E. Invasion Update, was clearly designed to air as a second part/episode of the Invasion of the M.U.S.C.L.E. Things commercial. The switch from monsters to wrestling only seems to make sense because the ancillary M.U.S.C.L.E. products are wrestling related. The commercial simply crowbars wrestling into the scenario.

Wolf Voigt – Custom Figures

Recently on Auction Watch #22 an auction with a custom #153 was featured. Not much information was known about the creator of this figure. Recently the University of M.U.S.C.L.E. contacted the seller wanting to know a little more about the creator. It turns out his name is Wolf Voigt.

Art 100 – Update

Gilbert Garcia submitted another interesting example of packaged counterfeit figures: T.U.F.F. Guys. Three of the four figures appear to be robots with the fourth figure clearly being a bootlegged #3 M.U.S.C.L.E. figure.
