Auction Watch #213

Pride comes before the fall. That’s the saying, right?

Thank god I’m never proud about anything M.U.S.C.L.E.-related. I’m just a pompous blowhard. These Auction Watch posts aren’t going to write themselves; I need to have something to say. Before I can get to this week’s auctions I do need to talk about the last auctions.

I just fucked up on the first one. You guys were 100% correct. Those cans were open. I wasn’t paying attention and got fooled by one of the oldest shenanigans in the book – willful omission. He never said they were open; he never said they weren’t; what you see is what you get. Shame on him, but shame on me too.

This is why M.U.S.C.L.E. collectors need to talk and be open and truthful. It’s helpful, even when it’s uncomfortable. If topics are taboo or ignored, then there’s probably active shenanigans.

I couldn’t believe the second auction when I saw it the first time. Why would anyone bid $59.95 for a “sealed” 28-pack?

I can acknowledge that somebody got a hard-on for it. They placed their bid. I can’t accept two other people wanted it too. Take a look at the bids. It sure looks like shill bid shenanigans to me. I’d love for these three bidders to tell me I’m wrong.

Finally, the third auction. I’ve never been happier to be wrong. I hope people start accepting Satan Cross is a Flesh figure. You’re only paying $50 for the legend.

I can’t live in the past forever (said dripping with irony), let’s take a look at this week’s auctions.

The first auction, M.U.S.C.L.E MUSCLE MEN Kinnikuman Terri Bull Buffalo Man Corbra Satan Lot of 3, makes me think Auction Watch is going the way of the dinosaur or basic decency.

What is there to talk about when eBay continues to get more and more of these auctions?

Three Flesh figures with a BIN of $55. I’m sure if you made an offer of $30 she would consider it. Fuck this person. Fuck all the people that clog up eBay with their shitty M.U.S.C.L.E. auctions.

I believe, as of writing this, there is only one good M.U.S.C.L.E. auction on eBay. It is this auction: Muscle Men The Wrestlers Lutteurs m.u.s.c.l.e kinnikuman.

And, of course, it’s not even a real M.U.S.C.L.E. auction – but that’s the charm of this item.

The Lutteurs are one of my favorite Masquerading M.U.S.C.L.E. Figures. Seeing this auction makes me realize I need to put together a Lutteurs write-up.

I have to admit I don’t even know how many figures are in the set. I can only remember these specific four figures ever showing up.

Does anyone have a different Lutteurs figure?

Since this auction started at $0.99 and is, currently, at $5.50 I may have to place a bid. Of course, the last one sold for $51. I wouldn’t pay that, but I can sympathize with someone paying it. I believe these have always hovered in the $40~$50 range.

The person who bought the 28 pack that was supposedly sealed last week will be real disappointed
Did no one else notice the figures in there that weren’t even 28 pack figures???

    The Lutteurs sold for $36.
